On March 20th at the New York International Auto Show, the X PRIZE Foundation and Progressive Insurance jointly announced the $10 million dollar Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE. "Let the race begin!" said X PRIZE Chairman and CEO Dr. Peter Diamandis. Complete details here.

People love their cars. They are vital links to our jobs, our community, ourselves. For everything we love about them, cars are chained to the most severe global crises of our time: oil dependence and climate change.

Through an exciting partnership with Progressive Insurance, the newly renamed Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE invites teams from around the world to focus on a single goal: design viable, clean and super-efficient cars that people want to buy.

This will be a race for the ages, with major publicity and $10 million waiting for the champions… and perhaps our future hanging in the balance.

Download and review the draft competition guidelines...

Thank you for your interest in the Progressive Insurance Automotive X
PRIZE. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your insight and
hope that you will continue to watch the competition unfold. Many great
things continue to happen and it is an exciting time. Registration has
not yet officially opened, but should in the next couple of months -- it
will remain open for 90 days after that.

Please make sure to check our web site (www.progressiveautoxprize.org )
from time-to-time to stay abreast of what is going on. We will also add
you to our mailing list so that you will always have the latest news.

GoodSearch Contest
Submission Deadline: Midnight, April 19

With the nation in an economic downturn, charitable donations falling and education budgets being cut, nonprofits and schools need your support more than ever!  Covenant Home School Resource Center is signed up and ready for your support.

GoodSearch and GoodShop are two of the easiest ways to help in these difficult times, but we need you to spread the word...

1) Please place a GoodShop and
GoodSearch logo on your website. (Each time you do a search on GoodSearch and connect Covenant Home School Resource Center to your search bar, money gets credited to Covenant's account.)

2) Buy all of your office supplies, gifts and other purchases through
GoodShop.

3) Send an
email to your friends and family reminding them to use GoodShop and
GoodSearch

More than 56,000 nonprofits and schools are now participating in
GoodSearch and 100 more continue to join each day! Thank you as always for your support!

GoodSearch Video Contest!

We've launched a contest to help raise awareness for all of the great causes you support!

To enter, just create a video saying who you GoodSearch for. The nonprofit highlighted in the winning video will be featured on the GoodSearch homepage will also receive a $100 donation.

For more information, and to check out all the great videos that have already been created, click here -- www. youtube.com/group/goodsearch

We can't wait to see the videos you or your organization's supporters create!

GoodShop Earns Large Donations for Nonprofits!

What's the fastest way to generate big donations for your cause?

Easy, it's GoodShop! Here are a few examples...

bullet A purchase at Target.com earned $80 for Chaves County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
bullet An order at Adobe.com generated a $100 donation for the Soldiers Angels Foundation.
bullet Sunshine Cottage School for the Deaf earned $40 from an order on Zappos.com.

If you shop online at Amazon, eBay, Target, Gap, Staples, Best Buy, J.Crew, or any of more than 600 top stores, remember to go to GoodShop.com first and link over to these retailers.

A significant percentage of virtually every purchase will go toward your favorite cause!

Where Does The Money Go?

Money contributed to Covenant Home School Resource Center will provide funding for staffing and facilities to improve the services that we offer to the homeschooling community.

We received some wonderful emails from you letting us know how your organizations are using the GoodSearch money. We wanted to share a few with you:

bullet The North-West Fire Protection District used the money to buy much needed new fire helmets and fire nozzles.
bullet CATS-CAN used the money to neuter and spay homeless cats in Seminole County , Florida .
bullet The Urban Flower Project bought books for pre- kindergarten classes in the urban school district of East Orange , NJ.
bullet The Kortney Rose Foundation put the money towards pediatric brain tumor research.

Our goal is to help you continue to fund all of these wonderful projects, so please spread the word.
